About us:
The Camden Fairview School District Early Childhood & Special Education Program offers individualized instruction, services, and supports for early learners ages three to five who have been identified as having a developmental delay or disability. We offer these services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), and services are provided by Camden Fairview School District at no cost to the family.

Who is eligible?
A child may be eligible for special education services if they are age three to five and experiencing delays which interfere with their normal development in one of these areas:
Fine motor skills
Gross motor skills
Adaptive/Self-help skills
Social emotional skills
Cognitive skills
Communication skills
Other areas which may affect their educational development

Where are services provided?
Services are provided in as setting that the child's team determines is the most appropriate and where the child spends the majority of the day. Service location examples include:

Head Start
Licensed child care facilities
Community-based locations
Residential sites

Contact the Camden Fairview Early Childhood Education Center or Special Education Department and tell them you have a child in need of services. We will schedule your child for a free vision, hearing, speech, and developmental screening. The best services and supports for your child will be discussed after we have reviewed the results from your child's screening.

Special Education records are maintained for 6 years after students graduate, are dismissed from services, or leave the district. Records are available for the student or parent (if the student is under 18) by request. Records will be destroyed after the 6-year maintenance window. Under the IDEA legislation, all states must have a comprehensive system to assure all children within each school district who may be identified as needing early intervention or special education services are located, identified and referred for appropriate services.

Special Education services are available to all eligible students, in both public and private schools, including students who are highly mobile, homeless, or wards of the state.

Camden Fairview School District serves approximately 296 school aged students with disabilities and approximately 40 early childhood students. This represents 16% of the current student population.
Students are served throughout five buildings in the district.

Camden Fairview provides the following Special Education services: occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language services, and psychoeducational testing. Additional services are available as needed.
