Frequently Asked Questions for 9th Graders & New Students

• What are the hours of operation?
  • Our instructional day is from 8:00AM to 3:19PM. Breakfast begins at 7:20AM. Car-riders and bus-riders are dismissed at 3:19PM.

• How does the car line work at CFHS?
  • Please enter CFHS using either entrance from Cash Road and proceed to the front of CFHS. All students should be dropped off and picked up in front of the building at the main entrance.

• What classes do 9th graders need to take?
  • A full overview of the CFHS Course Catalog is available here. The CFHS counseling department is staffed by two full-time counselors, a career coach, and a counselors’ clerk. Their contact information is available here. Requirements and credits for graduation begin with 9th grade coursework. Twenty-four (24) units (credits) must be successfully completed for graduation. Please note that students must be enrolled in six (6) courses each year that qualify for graduation credit to ensure graduation within four (4) years.

• When will my student receive their class schedule? Will they get to see their classrooms and meet their teachers before school starts?
  • The first day of school is Wednesday, July 30, 2025. 9th graders will pick up their schedules before school begins. CFHS will also host an Open House. During Open House, students will tour the building, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms. You may also download the Camden Fairview app and follow us on social media to stay up-to-date. 

• Is my child's homeroom teacher my main point of contact?
  • At CFHS, students have 7 class periods and are in each class the same amount of time. You are encouraged to contact any of your student's teachers with questions or concerns. Home Access Center (HAC) is also available to monitor your student's grades and may be accessed here.
  • We also use ParentSquare to communicate with families. Learn more about how CFSD uses ParentSquare to help families stay connected to their child’s school community.

  • Keep your contact information current at all times. If your contact information changes, please share the updated information with your child’s teacher and the building registration secretary. We use your cell phone number, home number, and email address to send ParentSquare notifications through text, email, and phone calls. The nurse and front office will also use those numbers if your child becomes ill at school.

• What school supplies does my child need?
  • The 2024-2025 supply list is available here. The 2025-26 list will be available this summer.

• Will students use lockers? Will they be required to purchase locks or an agenda?
  • No, students will not use lockers nor will they be required to purchase an agenda. Students will need to pay $5.00 for their student ID.

• What clubs and activities are available for CFHS students?
  • We encourage every student to take a look at our clubs and extracurricular activities, and learn more about joining groups that interest them.
