As the 2023-2024 school year comes to an end, it's time for us to reflect on this year's successes and challenges as we work to make next year an even better year at Camden Fairview. Please take a few minutes to help by completing the Capturing Kids' Heart (CKH) family survey for your child's school.

Keep Daily Reading Part of Your Child's Summer Activities!

Summer break is almost here! While summer fun is at the top of your child’s to-do list, we encourage you to keep daily reading on your child’s list of summer activities. Like other skills your child is learning, such as hitting a baseball or learning a new cheer, reading needs to be practiced daily to maintain and strengthen reading skills.

Summer reading loss or “summer slide” happens when students don’t read over the summer.  “Summer slide” can mean that students who do not read over the summer months may need up to two months at the beginning of the school year to get back to their reading level from the end of the previous school year!

Our main goal for summer reading is to foster a love for reading, strengthen reading fluency and stamina, and build upon the idea that reading is important all year. Use the links below to learn more about your child's summer reading.
